Once upon a time there was a girl that loved to create and teach others to find their creative vein, that girl was me and I would love to have you find community in one of my many creative classes.
Laurie is a soulful artist with a heart for nurturing creativity and creating gentle spaces where others feel seen, safe, and inspired.
As the founder of The Creative Naiad, LLC, she offers art as a form of self-care and emotional healing, inviting people to reconnect with their creative essence – without pressure or perfection.
Laurie is located in La Crosse, WI and teaches, creates, sips coffee, and takes in the beauty of the Driftless Region.

Getting my nature fix in Wisconsin
Born and raised in Colorado within a lineage of artists, Laurie found solace in creativity and nature from a young age. Growing up in a volatile environment, art became her sanctuary – one that she now lovingly offers to others. With a background as a nurse for over 30 years and a history of leading nonprofits that served families and youth, Laurie has spent a lifetime building nurturing spaces where people can feel held and whole.
Her own journey with anxiety, being on the spectrum, and often feeling like she didn’t “fit in” has shaped her mission: to create soulful, welcoming spaces where others-especially quieter, heart-led souls, can come as they are, and create.
Usually found with paint in her hair and dirt under her fingernails, Laurie’s creative passion is an extension of who she is.
She is the multi-passionate owner of The Creative Naiad, LLC, where nurturing and art flow freely and co-mingle.
Nature is her inspiration, with its full spectrum of color and texture, light and shadows, captured in her paintings and naturally-dyed fiber arts. At the easel, she allows her imagination and intuition to guide the acrylics across the canvas using brushes, tools, and her fingers.
In her fiber art, she preserves nature’s rainbow of color using her natural dye process, incorporating flowers and foliage gathered from her gardens and many hikes in the driftless area of Wisconsin.
Her fiber art, greeting cards, and acrylic prints can be found on Etsy and her website.
